This par 72, 18 hole golf course is located on the north coast in the Playa
Dorada complex near Puerto Plata. The Playa Dorada Golf Course was founded
in 1984 and designed by the golf architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. It has
wide fairways, 4 greens by the sea, 5 greens are set bordering inland water.
Around the course area there are many all-inclusive hotels.
Playa Grande Championship Golf Course
This course, one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean, was designed by the
celebrated architect Robert Trent Jones Sr., on an area of more 370 acres,
it was inaugurated in 1997. It's not just oceanfront, with holes along the
beach. The course is high above the ocean, played along 100-foot bluffs, 10
of the 18 holes are played along the seacliffs, and bays with cliffs like
Pebble Beach. The course has its spectacular oceanfront setting, with hills
in the background. Also as spectacular is the exciting Playa Grande Beach,
the most impressive of the island laying at the foot of this golf course.
