Sunshine Hotel in Puerto Plata

Sunshine Hotel is located on the main street connecting Puerto Plata, Costambar, Sosua, and Cabarete. Public transportation is accessible directly in front of the hotel and local supermarkets are just minutes away. The Sunshine Hotel features guest rooms with private balconies, private showers with hot water, cable TV, air conditioning, security, and a popular restaurant, Mr. Luis.

Nice but lots of traffic noise.

Montsilva Hotel

Hotel Montesilva is located on a quiet side street and features a swimming pool, cable TV, air conditioning, and security. Only minutes away from the Malecon, beach, public transportation, and supermarket.

Hotel Mountain View

Hotel Mountain View features a large swimming pool, cable TV, air conditioning, security, restaurant, and a lively bar. Located just outside of downtown Puerto Plata, numerous restaurants and discos are only steps away.

With the disco on site it is a very noisy place to stay but you're in the heart of the action.

Latin Quarter Hotel on the Malecon

This is one of the older hotels in Puerto Plata and is on the Malecon. It has a pool, air condition rooms, with cable television and phones. Ask to see your room first to make sure you get one of the remodeled ones with the new beds.

Not the greatest value but comfortable and close to the beach.

Hotel Village

Hotel Village features cable TV, air conditioning, 24 hour security, and a restaurant/bar. Large supermarket and several excellent restaurants are within walking distance. Located in a quiet residential area.

This budget hotel is for the experienced traveller.

Condado Hotel

Hotel Condado features a swimming pool, cable TV, air conditioning, and security. Located across the street from a local grocery store. Public transportation is easily accessible at your front door.

Noisy location on the main highway.

Le Pattaya Condo-Lodge

The Le Pattaya Condo-Lodge is centrally located in the city of Puerto Plata. Public transportation to Sosua and Cabarete is easily accessible as are numerous restaurants and nightclubs. Fourteen private suites with kitchenettes, refrigerators, ceiling fans, hot water, and back-up power supply are available for short and long-term rental. Budget rooms with private bath and cable TV also available.

Also for the budget minded experienced traveller.

Hotel Victoriano in Puerto Plata.

Hotel Victoriano is a three floor hotel located on a quiet side street in downtown Puerto Plata. Within walking distance of dozens of restaurants, the beach, bars, and nightclubs, this hotel has been featured in several travel guides. Rooms feature cable TV and air conditioning.

Only the real adventurous traveller will enjoy this location.

Portofino Guest House.

Rooms feature cable TV and air conditioning. In addition to the popular Portofino Pizzeria, the property features a large custom designed pool area and a separate park for children.

Bahia Blanca in Rio San Juan.

The Bahia Blanca Hotel is one of my favorites. I know it's not located in Puerto Plata but it's worth the 90 minute drive to spend a few days at this beautiful location. Surrounded on both sides by beautiful beaches and only minutes away is the Caleton beach where a fish dinner is available.

For the golfers the fantastic Playa Grande course, compared to Pebble Beach in California, is only 10 minutes down the road.
